Fatbelly Deli: Your Go-To Sandwich and Ice Cream Destination in Stanwood, MI

That name don’t lie!! This place is a gem tucked into the side of a gas station. Not only was our food, The Victor & The Fatbelly sandwiches w vanilla soft serve, absolutely delicious, but it was a great portion for the price. The workers had great attitudes and smiles, all working hard and as a team to get food out. We enjoyed our food outside at a picnic table. They offer outdoor uncovered picnic tables, covered picnic tables, and limited indoor seating. This has become a “must stop” for us anytime we’re passing through this area.

Awesome sandwiches and the soft serve icecream was amazing! The ladies working here are the so sweet! Highly recommend stopping here. So glad we did on our way to Grand Rapids!

Casual Comfort and Delicious Food We recently visited and had a great experience! The atmosphere was casual and the space was clean and well-maintained. Two employees were working during our visit, and both were friendly, quick to greet us, and checked in throughout our meal to ensure everything was going well. The food was delicious! I ordered the Italian Stallion sandwich, my husband had the Crown Victoria, and our daughter enjoyed the grilled cheese. All three meals were flavorful and satisfying. The sides were equally good—salt and pepper kettle chips and creamy coleslaw complemented the sandwiches perfectly. There was also a nice selection of drinks, all reasonably priced. The ice cream offerings were particularly tempting. They had several flavors, along with shakes and floats that were cleverly named. Although we didn’t try the ice cream this time, it’s on our list for next time! The seating inside is limited with two small tables, a larger table, and counter seating. We appreciated the convenience of having a bathroom available as well. Overall, this deli/creamery is a great spot for a casual meal with excellent service and quality food. We’ll definitely be back to try the ice cream!

The sandwiches here are incredible. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Large portions. Coleslaw and potato salad were very good as well. Service was fast and friendly.

Follow the stars on this place. ⭐ Customer service has been top notch, friendly & helpful each time we have visited. And an impressive variety of delicious! I am not typically a sandwich girl but these are next level. There’s a line (possibly because this seems to be a go to)? No worries. They are fast & efficient on the line. You want they have to offer. It’s a yes for The Fatbelly, The Monkey, The Italian Stallion and The Sour Kraut. Very fun decor that has vibrant energy. Choice of indoor seating, covered outdoor patio or picnic tables in the grass.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich, walked in and couldn't resist the ice cream display so I had to get some of that too. Everything was great! Friendly employees and great service!

This deli is an absolute gem and the only downside is I don't live close enough to visit more often. We ordered the Cuban and it is by far the best Cuban we've ever eaten. The service was fast even though it was busy, and everyone was super friendly. We also had a strawberry shake and that was excellent as well. If you're driving by, definitely stop, you won't regret it. Update: Returned today and got the Italian Stallion. As expected it was very good, and we couldn't resist another strawberry shake!

I ordered the Republican sandwich. It came with chips and potato salad. Everything was delicious. The ladies working were friendly and conversational with each person who was there. This place is a hidden gem.
